Developers appear to be forging ahead with a rezoning proposal that would result in a four story Prince Avenue office complex.
Correspondence received by the Historic Boulevard Neighborhood Association indicates that Jordan, Jones & Goulding and Prince Nacoochee, LLC, plan to submit their proposal for a March planning commission vote. Following normal procedure, that would bring a mayor and commission decision in April.
The new development would replace two commercial buildings on Prince, as well as a low-income apartment building [Major development planned for Prince, Jan. 15]. Among other things, Boulevard residents are concerned about the visual impact of the complex as proposed, the traffic it would bring to their neighborhood, and the loss of residentially zoned properties.
Though their project must clear the planning commission and City Hall, developers are already distributing literature aimed at future tenants. [Brad Aaron]
